MY JOURNEY CREATING THE ODD ONES
While in art school, earning my BFA in Illustration, it was my dream (as it was since the 1st grade) to write and illustrate my own picture book. I knew that had to be my BFA project to present as my mega-project for graduation (1996). 36 full-page spreads. It was an ambitious goal, and I used up every bit of my year including winter and spring breaks to finish it, but I did it! For years the project remained safe in plastic and boxes until I decided to self publish. My challenge was that the art was all done on illustration board, too large to fit on a normal-sized scanner. So I had the pieces professionally photographed by a coworker while working at Blue Frog Gaming. It wasn't until I published several other books that I finally challenged myself to put this book out into the world, FINALLY. These original pieces have been saved carefully for decades and are difficult to part with, but I'm happy to finally let go and share them with others (at least I have the high-resolution images to use for prints and merch)!

Each piece is created on illustration board. Board size is 15.125" x 20" (interior illustration is 11x17").
Medium: Colored inks and Prismacolor pencils. Each illustration has been preserved perfectly and arrives with a covered flap for extra protection until you frame the piece. PRICE: Each original piece of art is $300, with an additional $40 to cover BOOK (optional add-on): $25 (hardcover, signed) shipping costs/materials. |
