I act as a guide and hold your hand through the publishing/self publishing process.

You keep all rights to your book.
You can be as involved as you want to be. If you don't want to deal with the publishing aspect of the business, I offer my publishing services to you, working as a go-between using KDP & IngramSpark to create a print-on-demand platform for your book.

I offer illustration packages designed around your needs.
In order for me to give you an accurate quote for your project, I will need to read your manuscript, and I'm happy to sign a confidentiality agreement in advance if that is something you require. By reading the manuscript, I can get a better idea of how many pages/spreads you will need and how complicated the illustrations will be. I will also need to meet with you via ZOOM to make sure we are in agreement on the design plan. WHAT I CAN DO FOR YOU:

My Book Design & Illustration Process:
- Meet with you via Zoom to agree on the book plan (design/deadline) and submit a quote.
- Create a rough "dummy" layout of the book (dummy = set of illustrations together with text from the book) to submit to you for your approval (PDF).
- Create a more defined set of sketches for each book spread, defining character look, style, etc. Submit for your approval (PDF).
- Time for the finished art (along with text layout). Will submit 2-5 spreads at a time for approval. Yes, I design the entire page, not just the illustration. Text included.
- Cover art rough submitted for your approval, as well as nailing down the other miscellaneous interior spreads (dedication page, legal info, "about author" page, etc)
- Cover art finalized and submitted for your approval.
- Downloadable PDFs created of all files to upload onto IngramSpark/KDP, or other print-on-demand platform.
- Original Photoshop file(s) forwarded to you for your own use, if needed (these are helpful if you have a marketing person who will need original art pieces to create their own marketing materials).
I know you want to know how much I charge ;)
I like to work with self-published authors. For that reason, I keep my rates lower than I probably should. I CURRENTLY (2022) might charge as high as $1,500 - $2,000. It really depends on how much work will be needed for the book. Simpler characters (cute, cartoony animals) are simpler and quicker for me. Human characters are more complex (less forgiving when it comes to proportions), so the rate would be on the higher end for a book with mainly human characters.
If you already have a graphics person on your end who can handle the book design and all you need from me is the illustration, that will also make my services even more affordable for you.
