A message from the creator, Wendy Fedan:
This coloring book stemmed from the process of writing my newest memoir project. This memoir was a deeply personal project about my six-day hospitalization for depression and anxiety in May, 2019. Before my hospitalization, I always meant to try coloring in adult coloring books, but as a professional artist, I never allowed myself the time to actually try it. I was too busy creating my own illustrations for clients and my books.
In the hospital I was finally allowed the time to care for myself and give coloring pages a try. It was a magical experience. Not only did I enjoy it, but my fellow patients one by one began to join me at the table, choosing pages to color, and we shared our markers and pencils... and stories of what brought us each to the psych ward.
Coloring was not simply an exercise to keep us busy. It was a bonding experience.
I encourage you to use this book as a resource for inspiration. Color inside and outside the lines! Share these pages with a friend and color together over coffee or lunch! Use the phrases and imagery inside as journal prompts! Color a page and send it in the mail to a friend as a gift!
My hope is that this coloring book will help with your own journey of struggle - a tool to help you CREATE YOUR WAY through adversity. Blessings to you and your precious journey!
